A Qatar Airways Boeing 777-200 freighter, registration A7-BFL performing flight QR-8146 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), departed Atlanta with a cargo pallet unsecured in the cargo hold. The aircraft continued to Frankfurt for a landing about 8:20 hours later.

The aircraft was unable to continue its schedule and remained on the ground in Frankfurt for 6 days until Aug 3rd 2024, then positioned to Doha and is still on the ground in Doha about 48 hours after landing in Doha.

According to information The Aviation Herald received the unsecured (not locked into position) cargo pallet bumped around at the main cargo deck causing damage to the aircraft.

On Aug 5th 2024 Germany's BFU reported that they have been informed about the occurrence, which was not rated a serious incident or accident, therefore the BFU is not going to investigate the occurrence.
